Time to Syndicate

One handful of people have said to me in the past week to “syndicate yourself, Keri”.  Okay, even though I don’t really get what that means and Wikipedia is zero help – now I’m confused in Latin?  I think it means putting my episodes everywhere.

When waiting for Keri to go explore the Toronto Botanical Garden last week I cleaned my lens and remembered these guys, Current.com – that’s Al Gore’s internet and TV company that I’d met with forever ago.

I’m gonna call my guy Henry there this week and say hello.  I think my Navy episode could make it to TV broadcast, but I’m biased.

Dinner at the Track

I’m at Turf Lounge where you eat fantastic food while betting on the horses come ON. I’ve only bet on horses once before, at Woodbine.

Made many new friends:

Top left is Winnie and Gordon and top right is Dan, one of those real genuine guys.  In the middle is Frank who works there and is awesome; make sure to sit at his bar if you go.

Missing is Nick, “no I don’t wanna be on your blog”, and who taught me a new favourite line: Well NAME HERE, of all the men I’ve met in my life, you were one of them.

I find the betting process confusing (win, show, trifactor, boxed in, WTF); watch the below video to see absolutely zero information enter my brain.

Betting is provided by Champions Off-Track Wagering, they have 25 locations in and around Toronto featuring races from Woodbine, Mohawk and around North America.  You won’t find Turf Lounge in their location list though, ha.  They invited me back, “you gonna come back and make a proper episode Keri?” and yup, sure am fellas.

Nuit Blanche Kick-off Party

Tonight was the kick-off party for Nuit Blanche – a contempary 24 hour outdoor art festival that takes over Toronto each year.  Of course I took photos of inside the bank, how could you not.

It was held at the flagship ScotiaBank on King Street downtown where there were people dancing on a giant wedding cake outside, click here to see my TwitVideo of that.

And here’s another video of the TomTom GPS VIPs were given, preloaded with the art installation locations.  Then the camera peeks over some flowers and there’s Chris Hodgson saying hi, here we are below:

He’s the Group Head of ScotiaBank, basically one of the very top guys.  He has the best handshake, it awesomely crushed me.  I shook it twice.

It’s like one of those handshakes that can’t be faked and only can come from serious manual labour, which confuses me because he’s been in the corporate world for a while. I’m a big believer in handshakes, I always teach little kids how to do ’em.

On Saturday we’re off to another kick-off party at the Shereton Centre before we go exploring thanks to Matthew, click here to see us tonight, and thanks dude.
