I don’t even really like golf… the last time I hit a ball was with my brother in Ottawa. But I’d got it in my head that just once I had to hit the driving range this summer, so I did tonight:
july 27 2009
I’m at the Andy Bathgate Golf Range owned by Andy, an ex-Leaf’s player who, ready?… scored the winning goal in the seventh game to take the Stanley Cup in 1964. We were chatting and I debated but didn’t ask him for a photo because it felt like I’d be offending him. I think he’s way more into golf now.
I’d love to go to a driving range. There used to be one years ago right where my condo is built! Ha! Cute golf outfit too :)
What offending??? You’re a blogger!! I think he would have been down.
Hey Casie – It _was_ fun, go for it. And thanks, even had my heels on for half the bucket of balls. And when I took them off for the second half my shots were unaffected, still sliced all over.
Hey Sean – Nah I disagree, especially when it comes to older people; they don’t always "get it". And I’d rather not get the shot then have the guy think, "oh, she was just talking to me for her blog, not because she’s genuinely interested", even though I am. Having seen that look go across someone’s face once I decided to not again let that happen.
I know that feeling. Different context, but still…
